Saturday March 14th we went door to door to give popcorn away to people in the community. The idea is to give something away with no strings attached.
There is no better way to get to know a community then to walk up and down its streets and talk to people. So we wanted to get to know some of the neighbors and bring a small token of friendship.
We wanted to make a good impression by giving a gift with no strings attached. Our culture has marketed us to death. We are skeptical when something is offered for free. We are waiting for the other shoe to drop. “What’s the catch?” we think. Well with a gift there is no catch. There is no need to convert to anything, do anything, commit to anything, or to think about anything except warm buttery popcorn… Mmmmmmm popcorn.
So if you live in Bonney Lake and you meet one of us at the door holding a bag of microwave popcorn you can take that bag guilt free. Whatever faith you hold, or even if you don’t. We are just your friendly neighborhood believers in Jesus Christ stopping by to be friendly and give you something to munch on.
